Every fixskin guide follows the same process.

1. Start with the evidence

For each concern we identify the active ingredients with the strongest support from dermatology research and guidelines — for example ketoconazole and zinc pyrithione for dandruff, or salicylic acid and adapalene for acne.

2. Read the full formula

We look at the full ingredient list, the strength of key actives where brands disclose it, the base formula, and potential irritants like fragrance or drying alcohols.

3. Match to real people

We pick products for different needs — best overall, budget, sensitive skin, and so on — so there's a fit for most readers.

4. Keep it current

Formulas and prices change. Each guide shows when it was last updated, and we revisit picks regularly.
